 Lowe's Toolbox for Education

Benson Middle School has received a $4,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for a gazebo and landscaping project supporting a reader’s retreat and the school’s new Book Club.

We are thrilled to announce that Lowe’s has awarded Benson Middle School with funding for the Reader’s Retreat.  Our grant application was based on the goal of improving the learning community at Benson Middle School. We look forward to sharing the Reader’s Retreat with the citizens of Benson.  This project will improve our school facilities and enhance the beautification efforts by the Benson Clean and Beautiful Committee and the City of Benson.

The gazebo project will be a collaborative effort by several departments at Benson Unified School District and will provide students and faculty an opportunity to engage in community service.  We plan to start the project at the beginning of the 2015-16 school year and have it completed in the fall.

“Our school, district, and community will greatly benefit from this grant. We wish to thank our friends at Lowe’s for generously supporting this important project,” said Tammara Ragsdale, school principal.

All K-12 public schools in the United States are eligible for the Toolbox for Education program.  More information is available at www.ToolboxforEducation.com.
